Warehouse Manager / Logistics Planning
Plan, organize, direct, control and evaluate the operations of a warehouse facility. Determines routing and method of transportation to ensure on-time departure and arrival of shipments for a small exhibit and trade show designer/fabricator.
Key
Responsibilities:
Maintain Records - Keeping logs and schedules current. Filing reports for traffic movements of the company. Record purchase orders as received.
Arrange Transportation - Coordinating transportation needs for shipping area. Monitoring transportation of shipments for tracking daily and ensuring correct destination and on-time arrival. Negotiating rates and discounts to obtain best value for transportation needs. Selecting carriers.
Resolve Problems - Providing for alternative transportation solutions in the event of problems. Responding to incoming calls from clients with problems. Investigating causes of damages or shortages in consignments.
Direct Staff - Supervises loading and receiving of shipments. Maintaining direction of the warehouse staff to complete work as assigned. Monitoring performance.
Provide Data - Documenting returned goods and outbound materials. Providing data for client inventory records.
Required Skills/Experience/Education:
Excellent organizational skills; attention to details and accuracy. Supervisory experience. Strong communication skills and service orientation. Proficient computer skills including word processing and the use of Microsoft Excel. Business administration degree or 3-5 years equivalent experience.
Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
