The Staff nurse is a key member of the care team for those we serve in our various residential and day program settings.
Flexible, first shift working schedule (generally Monday-Friday) with after hours and weekend on-call rotation.
May be asked to work other shifts, weekends & holidays.
May be asked to assist with additional sites.
Limited work from home flexibility is available at times.
Full time, hourly, 40 hours/week.
Essential functions include:
Completing regular and routine visits to all assigned sites while making formal and informal observations of individual health needs, changes and ensures implementation of Individual Service Plan.
Managing the health needs of assigned individuals, working with a dynamic team of professionals to facilitate and maintain communication and documentation of individual's medical, physical and emotional progress and/or needs in accordance with regulatory bodies.
Writing various reports and summaries while formulating and updating nursing goals, objectives, and interventions, as needed, for assigned individuals.
Participating in various meetings with individuals, healthcare providers, parents, guardians and/or staff regarding individual progress while providing input and recommendations for each individual regarding medical, physical and emotional status, progress, needs and desired outcomes.
Overseeing medication administration and health related activities ensuring compliance with state and federal rules and regulations.
Provides education, quality assurance and general support to staff at assigned sites.
The Staff Nurse works with the agency's leadership team in healthcare related duties such as vaccination clinics, policy and procedure development, employee training, system(s) evaluation, summer camp, electronic records systems as well as infection prevention and control assessment, monitoring and management.
Staff nurses serve on both internal and/or external committees utilizing personal strengths to provide contributions to the agency (both medical and non-medical).
The Staff Nurse position demonstrates a positive & professional attitude while demonstrating teamwork and effective working relationships with both internal and external stakeholders facilitating quality service delivery and a positive agency image.
The Staff Nurse serves as an effective leader and communicator (both verbal and written) and is self-motivated, dependable, collaborative.
Required Competencies and Credentials:
Active Ohio Board of Nursing (OBN) License and/or equivalent MSL Must obtain and maintain certification in CPR and Psychological and Physical Management Techniques Must have basic computer and word processing skills.
Must be able to follow verbal and written instructions.
Must have a valid Ohio Driver's License, good driving record and carry liability insurance coverage limits required by The Society.
