Summary:
The primary responsibility of the Accounts Payable Specialist is to assist the AP Supervisor in preparing and reviewing all fleet and carrier payables for appropriate documentation and approval prior to issuance of payment.
The Accounts Payable Specialist maintains files and documents, as well as follows all processes and procedures relating to company monetary transactions as directed by the AP Supervisor.
The AP Specialist works at V3 Transportation's headquarters office in Seville Ohio, Monday through Friday during the day.
Essential Duties &
Responsibilities:
Maintain files and documentation accurately, in accordance with company policy and accepted accounting practices Monitor, scan, prepare and file electronic paperwork required for driver payables Run and prepare payables reports Maintain driver files and information required for accurate fleet payables on a weekly basis Assist the Payables Supervisor in preparing and running weekly fleet payroll Process payables to carriers who haul freight for V3 Transportation Support AP Supervisor in accounts payable and project accounting; ensures accuracy and timeliness.
Handle EFS card set-ups, maintenance, and removal/deletion as a back-up function as needed.
Enter status change information into project accounting software to ensure driver information is accurate and up to date.
Provide accounting assistance to managers and operations staff; responding to financial questions/concerns to meet business needs.
Assist with other projects as needed.
Required Education, Experience, Certification, Licenses, Registration:
High school diploma required, college courses in accounting preferred Finance or Accounting background preferred or combination of education and work experience Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
Must have strong spreadsheeting skills in Excel Can do attitude with a will do work ethic Must be well organized and a self-starter Detail oriented, professional attitude, reliable Must enjoy working with people and have the ability to build cross-departmental relationships Team player with a positive attitude, individual initiative, and effective communication skills Work independently and cooperatively as a team Ability to perform mathematical computations such as percentages, fractions, addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division quickly and accurately Proficient in Microsoft Office applications Some knowledge of applicable accounts payable/general ledger systems and procedures, financial chart of accounts, and corporate procedures Ability to interact with employees, customers, independent contractors, and vendors in a professional manner Benefit Conditions:
